Pregnancy changes your body enormously, and the aches and pains that come with it are very real. Back pain, pelvic discomfort, sore ribs and leg pain are common, but that doesn’t mean you have to just put up with them. We provide gentle, pregnancy-specific care at every stage, from the first trimester through to the final weeks and into postnatal period too.
As your baby grows, your posture shifts, your ligaments soften and your pelvis has to work harder than it ever has. This puts new pressure on the lower back, pelvis and hips. As part of our pregnancy care we use a gentle and specific technique called Webster Technique. This technique focuses on the pelvis and lower back. We use specialised cushions and positioning so you can lie comfortably at every stage of pregnancy.
What we commonly see:
Lower back or pelvic pain that affects your day-to-day life
A sharp or pulling pain in your groin or lower belly (round ligament pain)
Sciatic pain - shooting or aching down the back of your leg
Pain across the front of your pelvis or pubic area
Aching ribs or mid-back as your baby grows
General aching and tiredness from carrying extra load
Postnatal aches since giving birth
Chiropractic for Pregnancy
-
It is generally considered safe when provided by a chiropractor experienced in pregnancy care. Techniques are specifically adapted for each stage of pregnancy.
-
Webster Technique is a gentle, specific way of working with the pelvis and lower back during pregnancy. It focuses on reducing tension in the surrounding muscles and ligaments to support pelvic balance.
-
Absolutely. The postnatal period is physically demanding. Birth itself is a big physical event and then there’s feeding, carrying and the broken sleep on top of that. Many of our pregnancy patients continue care after birth.
